Default Ambien CR commercial

Has anybody ever noticed on the Ambien CR commercial it says "... swelling of the tongue and throat may occur and in rare cases may be fatal ..." and then at the end of the commercial it says "If any of these side effects occur, please contact your doctor." Just thought that was funny when I heard that this morning. 'knock on wood" nobody gets a side effect!

My personal favorite is with the Cialis or Viagra commercials, when they say: 'if you experience sudden loss of sight or hearing, STOP taking (the drug) and call your doctor'. (Funny, they don't explain how you're going to either find the phone or hear the other person on the other end anyway!)

Yup, that sounds like the medicine for me! You gotta wonder if people would be stupid enough to take these drugs if they said something like 'there is a 1 in 5 chance your entire body will swell like a balloon and pop within 20 mins of taking the drug' if there would still be people so horny or worried about 'performance' that they'd still risk it (hey, 80% chance it WON'T happen!).

People can be so vain and stupid sometimes...

that's a coincidence. This morning I saw an Ambien commercial and thought it would be funny to try and contact your doctor, but not able to speak well, because your tongue was swollen.

if you listen some of them will say sleep walking as a side effect too.... my mom was on it. she would not fall asleep right away like you are supposed to. she would say and do some weird things, we always knew when she had taken her meds. but she never remembered doing it. she would tell the dr the things we'd say and he told her it was impossible to take it and still be awake. we thought it was kinda funny cause we didn't realize how bad and dangerous it really was.

then one day, early on a sat, my mom calls my sister saying odd things. telling her she had to come help my other sis with some yard work. it just didn't make since. my sis asked her when she had taken her meds, she had been up late working and took them like 2 am. my sis asked where she was and she was at the store buying gardening stuff. my sis asked her to stay there she was coming. the only thing my mom remembers from that day was my sisters voice "mom, don't move, don't drive the car, i'm coming to you... don't go anywhere" she said my sisters voice was so serious she thought something bad was wrong with her and so she did as she asked. when my sis got there she ended up returning over $200 of stuff she charged to her credit card, took her home and put her to bed.

at that point my mom never took the meds again and the doc still said it could never happen. about a yr later the "sleep walking" warning came out.

i guess my point of that long story is if you have a history of sleep walking in your family be very carful taking stuff like that. the side effects are funny after the fact if no one gets hurt... but when i think what could have happened if my mom had not called anyone, she was sleep driving, sleep shopping, sleep who knows what else... so scary.

If you listen closely, a lot of those Rx commercials spew off a whole list of unpleasant side effects and it does get you thinking to whether or not it's really worth the possible and sometimes fatal risks. Lol.
