Default Psychics

I watched this programme about psychics that help the police solve cases. Some psychics like these tv ones are a joke, but renowned psychics actually seem to be able to see things others cant, and do indeed help solve cases.

I do believe there is such a thing as a 'sixth sense' I get it at work, I always get a gut feeling if something bad is going to happen. Ive predicted the last 3 deaths Ive attended to.

So, why cant some people actually see those details? Are they more in tune with promptings and information? Or is it something else?

I am tempted to see a psychic just to see what its all about, and see if children are on the agenda for us next year as we're starting IVF. I know its a risky thing to do, but I dont think God is going to help me on this one.

Any thoughts?

There are other forces in the world besides God. If it turns out these psychics, whether they know it or not, are getting their info from a 'lower power', do you really want to speak with them?
I've had unexplainable feelings/thoughts before, some of them really surprised me when I found how accurate they were. I can see how the lure of information could beckon, but honestly, I personally would not consult a psychic at this point in my life.

Side note: I did at a past time in my life. Her information has not proven accurate yet.

When I lived in Orlando years ago, I was driving to work on International Drive (primarily hotels and restaurants, convention Center, tourist traps) and saw a sign saying "Psychic Convention at the xxxx Hotel, xxxx International Drive" with the dates and times.

I wondered to myself, if they were really psychic would they have needed the sign?

Why don't you think God is going to help you out on this one? Not that I haven't said that myself on occasion, but why are you thinking of putting your faith somewhere else?

I am actually slightly fascinated by the whole psychic thing. And sometimes its tempting to go and see if someone can see important details into your future. (I went and had my palm read once on a dare. It was so stupid and was just a gimmic to get my money.) I am not sure it really matters if the psychic were right or not. What I think is more important is submitting to the will of God in terms of how and where and why He will bless and work with your life and then learning not to need to control the outcomes of things or fearing the outcomes of things either. God blesses us with problems and difficulties and it is often during these hardships that he reveals himself to us.

Go see a psychic if you must. But don't put your faith in it. As if a Psychic can help you get a baby any better than God.

I kind of thought that's what my Patriarchal Blessing was for.

We are going to be trying to have children through IVF and I believe that God will help us. Why would he not? Once for New Years a few friends and I went and saw a psychic in a mall, she did a tarot reading on me and said that I would move within the year, it didn't end up happening. Truthfully I don't really trust anything that psychics see.

I have a friend who has done seances (spelling?) and goes on "astral" journies. She has actually been attacked astrally, and has communicated with spirits. What it causes me to wonder is what attacked her and what types of spirits was she communicating with? I know a good amount of spirits that are currently on the earth that have no good feeling for us.

Do you work in a care facility or are you a nurse? Just curious on this.

The whole psychic thing really interests me. I knew a man - a member of the church, if it matters - who was psychic. He knew things about me and my family that there's simply no way he could have known. He described it not as "reading thoughts" but communicating on a spiritual plane. God gives us all gifts. Perhaps that was his?

Yes, it could have been his gift, but why take the chance that the person you go to really has 'good' information from the 'right' source? Like Tarnished said, there are a lot of spirits on this earth who harbor bad feelings for those who are living.

Well God hasn't always helped me in answering prayers a lot of the time so I dont want to put my trust in him and then be disappointed when he doesn't listen or answer. It really knocked my faith before, and as my faith is fairly fragile at the minute I dont want to risk it getting knocked further

My patriarchal blessing says I will have childrem. So does my friend's. They can't have children or adopt for complicated reasons. So how can you really rely on it? And before you ask she is a strong faithful woman in the gospel. I dont want to put my hopes on that and get my faith dashed yet again if it doesnt happen for us.

Yes I am a nurse Pam. I have an uncanny knack of predicting death. Ive said before to my colleagues. 'That lady is going to die today so we need to get things organised' Im so confident that they look at me funny. I will have to stop being so bold about it tho or people will think there's something suspicious going on!! I just need to make the necessary arrangements myself, without telling colleagues lol.

I suppose Im so desperate to know ifthe ICSI will work and seeing someone in the flesh who will give u a straight answer is tempting.

My best friend also had ICSI this year. It failed even though they'd fasted, prayed and had blessings all pointing towards a positive result. Not only did it fail but none of their embryos were viable and they will have to pay £5 grand for the next treatment. If God can make things happen why did he not make it happen for them?? Or us??
