I ran across a website the other day for a documentary movie that Ben Stein is pushing quite hard. I had never heard of it before. From what I have read, according to the site, scientists in general seem to be extremely closed-minded when it comes to Darwin. He claims that scientists who advocate or even wish to explore Intelligent Design are being coerced to keep silent or lose their reputations as reputable and that some are even losing jobs over their beliefs. Has anyone else heard of this? What are your thoughts on this seeming bigotry between scientists toward other scientists who disagree with Darwin's theory? My understanding is that Darwin himself believed in a higher power, but according to Stein, subscribers to his theory today are openly attacking that belief. Do you have to be a godless person to be credible in the scientific community? Does it help?

I believe that scientist are primarly targetting adherents of Intelligent Design. The focal issue is that of origins. Did the universe come together by random selection or design. Since design hints at deity, the scientific community considers heresy.

Intelligent Design is not Creationism
I do not know enough about this to have any opinion. However I was looking for some information on the film and in doing so came across this. It's from the Design Institute and is purely FYI. Elphaba

From what I understand from reading the website, I think it is being shown as a documentary.
Apparently, some of the people they interviewed are now claiming they were misled since the working title has been changed to a new title. There are some scientists who appeared on film who, now that they are finding out that their views are being held up as examples of bias towards others who disagree with them, are crying foul, even though the documentary claims their interviews are being shown in context. I have never heard a word about this film outside of its own website, it seems to be very unpublicized at the moment. Has anyone else heard of it before?
