We have had a very colorful fall this year in western New York. Take a look at the picture I just took today (sorry about the power lines in the picture).

Very nice. My desire is to one day spend a fall in the northeast and see all the colors of the trees. I understand the New England area is wonderful for thar.

Last year there were almost no autumn colors. A snow storm came in and knocked all the leaves off the trees. It went from green to brown which was quite disappointing to me.

Here on the Oregon coast, we don't have as much "color" as inland a few miles, particularly since we mainly have pines, firs, etc..
However, just about 15 miles inland, there is what many of you have heard me refer to as "The Corridor," a 10 mile stretch of dedicated forest that the Hwy winds through... in addition to the pines there are many oaks, maples, aspen, various bushes and undergrowth... every year it is simply beautiful (not as vibrant as the eastern states however, but so beautiful). This year we had a cold snap just right to turn the leaves and I was fortunate to drive inland at just the right time to catch it at its peak. It's awesome and one can't help oohing and aahhing as one drives...
I hope one day to travel to the eastern states to take in the fall colors.

Our colors this year were beautiful. One of the best we've had in years. I love the fall season. Don't care so much for winter.

It takes a disciplined person to listen to convictions which are different from their own. ~ Dorothy Fuldheim

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

We have the most awesome fall leaves right by our apartment! It's gorgeous! Some leaves are still green, we have a tree that turned orange, and then another has a mixture of red, orange, and brown. I need to go out and take some pictures.

Almost all the autumn colors are gone now. What was once a florescent landscape has turned mostly brown. I wish I didn't live where I do now. Too much snow will come soon.

Hopefully I can convince my wife to move away from here someday. It's within 100 miles of the Great Lakes so we get a lot of snow.

We are building right now (2 weeks till move-in, yay!) in the hills over-looking a lake. I was awestruck at how vibrant the fall colors are this year...makes me want to paint! ...aw, but because I am sooooo busy cleaning the new house (construction is soooo messy!) I can't paint right now.
