Default Herbal Health Remedies

Herbs are great at not only adding flavour to your cooking but have long been recognised for many centuries as having healing and health benefits. Here is a list of the top five health benefiting herbs. Use them more in your cooking according to what health benefits you are looking for.

1. Sage

Sage is a cousin of the mint family and has long been recognised as helping to assist digestive problems, perspiration disorders, sore throat suffers and a lack of appetite. It is also believed to enhance your memory recall.

2. Thyme

Helping to relieve coughs and associated respiratory issues including bronchitis and chest congestion. Thyme is also loaded with flavonoids and additional antioxidants and are also an excellent source of manganese.

3. Rosemary

This flavoursome and full-bodied herb has been shown to combat cataracts. Not only beneficial for eye related conditions it is also known to aid indegestion, digestive disorders and also headaches.

4. Fennel

An unassuming herb with a surprising power to help ease digestive disorders such as flatulence, bloating, and even constipation. Similar to Rosemary, it is also been known to help conjunctivitis sufferers.

5. Oregano

As most of us are aware, an essential ingredient of Italian cuisine which is also a rich source of antioxidant vitamins. These have been shown to have an effect in the prevention of several types of cancer.

As you can see, herbs are not only great for enhancing your cooking but are also extremely good at fighting and preventing a number of illnesses.
