Actually, a "Thanks" really is different than a LOL, IMO.

When I give a "Thanks", it means (to me) that I am agreeing with the sentiment expressed in that persons post.

On the other hand, when someone posts something I do not necessarily agree with, but says something humorous, THEN the LOL would be appropriate, but not the "Thanks".

I could use the LOL button on numerous posts, but I am more selective with my "Thanks".

Also, I really do not like interrupting the flow of a thread with a post that is just a or a or a ...
sooo, I understand if a LOL button is not do-able, but the "Thanks" is not the same as a LOL.

Alright, folks:There's no reason you can't just use the "Thanks" button if you find a post humorous. You can thank someone for a laugh just as much as you can an insightful or helpful post.An "LOL" button would require extra, unnecessary work for Heather to mod the boards and add stuff to the database, and I wouldn't be surprised if it "encouraged" members to be off-topic just so they can get an "LOL."It's unneeded.
I understand if it's a lot of work but................you're still a party-pooper!

vbulletin. There's only a thanks and a groan mod for it, no lol mod. you'd have to mod the thanks mod to make it a lol mod. Doesn't sound too awful hard to hack it, but I don't know how hard it would be to do the job right. Plus every time a new thanks mod would be released you'd have to take the current one and mod it manually to make it a lol mod. sounds like a load of trouble if you ask me. if there's a way to get that author to release a lol version and keep it updated, that might help.

Please contain your comments about the need for an "LOL" button to this thread, if you must do so.

What was that last bold comment about?

If it is because people joke around and say "Where's that LOL button when we need it?" I wonder where the problem is. People are just making a joke and emphasizing they found a post humorous.

Hi,

Thought I would add my 2 cents ,
I'm guessing that there was no need for the said mentioned LOL button for this post LOL

God bless,
