What are 'points'?
On my profile I have a star with a number next it that keeps going up and they seem to be called 'points'...what are they? what do they mean? how am I getting them? and any other information about them would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah I don't know either...in another forum we can give each other "reputation points"...or take them away.

I was wondering the very same thing.
I have belonged to a site where we gave or took Karma points, which are the same as the reputation point. I'm not sure how the point system works here, but I am going to guess that the points rise when we post or perhaps when we LOL or say Thank you to others for their posts. I am interested, however to know how this point system works and I'm glad someone else has asked.

You get points each time you post a blog or a new thread or a comment on someone's page, etc. It doesn't accumulate if you just post on an existing thread (like I'm doing right now). I have no idea what the "point" of the points are. (Sorry, I'm a bad pun waiting to happen.)

My points tend to go up and down, is that normal or am i just special?

Mine have gone up and then back down again also. I've noticed it when I start a new thread that doesn't get a lot of traffic, or is uninteresting for whatever reason.

The "rep" points are a little to behaviorist for me but I don't turn them off because I am just too curious...the only negative one was an accident, and this is on a Bible forum that does not for the most part like Mormons...someone actually gave me a point for giving them heck!
...well they were being nasty and dumb and I did get an apology which I graciously accepted.
