I like to call it Internet Exploder, I also call the family Ford Explorer an Exploder but for an entirely different reason, and it even has one Firestone tire on it.
Anyway, I use Chrome, I loves it. Firefox is good as well, lots of plug-ins and themes (even IE ones). Actually, if Chrome had an AdBlock type plug-in I'd be in heaven. Oh and Chrome needs an X (close) button to the right of the + (open new tab) button, that's be nice as well.
Other than that though, I really quite like it.

All of you geeks make me have to think too hard, and it hurts my brain.
I tried switching to Firefox once, and it totalled my computer. I'm sure I did something wrong, but I don't know what.
Would one of you please come over and do it for me?
Elph

Do you have internet explorer 7 by any chance? What version of windows are you using? This is a fairly common problem with internet explorer 7, though admittedly I've not come across it happening by simply pasting text into a text box before. However downgrading back to internet explorer 6 may well fix the issue.
As for the suggestion to swap to firefox, that is also a good idea. I've found internet explorer to be very temperamental and often does its own thing rather than what I ask it to do. Like once it has started transferring data from a website to your browser, you can click the stop button until your heart is content, but internet explorer will insist on loading the rest of that webpage a lot of the time. This is particularly obvious on the slow webpages when it carries on downloading the webpage for several seconds after I clicked the stop button. Firefox will stop as soon as I click on stop without exception.
I couldn't get used to chrome, one of two features that every other browser seemed to have were unavailable in chrome (like the ability to print a selection of text rather than the whole page). I'm sure the fact they they were missing were actually bugs as I used the very first release, however I also saw nothing in it to encourage me to swap from firefox.
Opera is also another option if you are going to swap.

Lol! Alternatively, as all of our computers are connected physically to each other in this network that we call the interweb, they can find someone they know and trust to remotely access their computer and do it for them. MSN used to offer features to do this (dunno if they still do), there is also www.logmein.com (which offers a free version of their software) but probably the best option is CrossLoop - Affordable Online Computer Help - Technical Support Services which offers the chosen helper one time access to the persons PC who needs help.

that requires you to trust someone you don't know access to your computer.
