Default Why is changing e-mail notification or unsubscribing not allowed?

I've followed every obvious step to either turn off e-mail notifications on replies to subscribed threads (I'm drowning in the things!) or unsubscribe altogether from a thread I do not wish to remain subscribed to, and the board software refuses to allow me to do so.

Do I need to leave the forum and have my account deleted to solve these problems?

Turning off email notification will only stop them from that point on for any new threads you might post on. Anything you are already subscribed to will have to be done individually as you receive the emails.

So what do I do to turn off the flood on threads I'm already involved in? [whimper]

I do believe on each email you get...it has an option to unsubscribe if I'm not mistaken. Okay I have different options that you on the board being a moderator...but if I'm not mistaken at the top of each thread page there is an option for "thread tools." If you click on that I believe there is an option for unsubscribe to this thread.

So why is that that when I go into the "subscribed threads" listing, I have menu options to turn off e-mail notifications (my primary concern, there's only one thread I want to unsubscribe from, but I do want others of interest to me gathered into that "subscribed" group), I go through the process (which does work on other boards I'm on that use the same software), and it does absolutely nothing? Why does this board disable that function?

You either have to turn them all off or do the ones you don't want to be subscribed to individually. It's an either/or unfortunately.

[sigh] Once again, there are two different problems:
One unsubscribe issue (I'll try the link)
Wanting to turn off e-mail notification on other subscribed threads while keeping them subscribed

I guess I"m confused when you say wanting to turn off email notification yet keep them subscribed.

What I mean by that is that I want them to show up in my list of subscribed threads, but not get e-mail every time someone posts (which is getting to be a lot of e-mail). This is possible on other boards I'm on with the same software, and the "select thread then perform operation in drop-down at bottom of screen" being doable strongly implies the operation in question should work.

I'll have to check into it with admin. I was always with the understanding subscribing meant getting notifications. I'll get back with you.
