Not a lds.net question, but hoping you can help.
My question is not about lds.net functions, so I'm stealing this forum for a bit, but I’m hoping one of you computer geeks can help me out.
I bought this laptop last March, and was very surprised to see Youtubes, Netflix and other video sites load, and play, immediately. My previous computer took forever to download these things.
Just in the past few weeks, I’m having the same problem. When I play Youtubes, they don’t load fast enough (I think that’s right), and they keep stopping. I’m also having problems playing (streaming?) Netflix movies.
I feel like there’s so much gunk on my computer now that something is interfering with something else. But that’s just a really stupid on computers person’s best guess.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Elphaba

Yes, I have Norton, and it seems to be good at keeping every "clean," as it catches a lot of viruses.
I do go to a number of different sites everyday, so could that be a problem if Norton isn't catching some of them that are dangerous?

JBS is pretty close.... If you keep you temp space clear of cookies and the fun different unknown downloads we all get, then things work faster. Because of cookies and site info that gets tied to all of our computers it chews up ram and ram is where your vid's download and run, so short answer keep your memory clean and clear by emptying your Temp files and cookie files regularly.
I'm sure there is some one on here with more info than me, but thats my suggestion.

I have gotten so That I almost hate Norton, it was pre-installed on the last 2 computers and when the free trial period was up they almost killed my computer and programs until I completely deleted the complete Norton suite from the computer. This latest one has Mcafee and so far is much better to work with.

Depending on your browser go to TOOLS. Clear cache, clear temp files and then restart. This should make it run much better. If you have passwords saved or request to stay logged in you will need to reenter those passwords. They are stored in cache.
Let me know how it works
