Default Seriously... am I the only one??

Why is it that every couple of weeks or once a month I get the broken English, I am in love with you want to know more about you Love Spam Email?

Anything that can be done to prevent this person or persons from actually setting up these false accounts and get them to no longer come here?

I have never had this happen on any other forum. And when I say any other, I formerly posted at CARM, currently post at writingforums, writersbeat, absolutewrite water cooler forum, MADB, and have never had anything like this. Only here...

Why why why...

I never get anything like that from this board, we do get infections sometimes from various sources that need to be "extradited" but nothing specifacly from this site.

Seattle, it is probably that hot picture of you. I never get any of these. I don't think it is spam so much as women can't resist you.

I wish there was something we can do. Unfortunately if they provide a verifiable email address when registering..not much we can do.

Set your profile so that only Friends can see it.

That should stop the emails.

I get them but the mods usually get them erased and gone before I ever see them. They really do a good job getting them cleaned up. Unfortunately somebody has to get them and report it first.

It does happen in other forums. This is not the only place. There are forums that don't have as much of a problem, usually cause it's a smaller audience or there are some sort of verification processes for identity before registration.

They won't hurt anything. Just delete and move on. Very minor annoyance in the big scheme of things.

Nathan

Thanks Nathan. I do try and get rid of them as quickly as I can. I appreciate that people send me messages about them so I can take care of them.

I never get them. Must be because Seattle's picture is so much hunkier than mine.

Is it really a big deal Seattle? It happens to me as well. C'mon, just ignore and delete.
