I want to post some study notes, but the document is 88 pages. So, how would I post this on the site, without linking to a webpage? Is there a way to upload a document?

You can upload it as an attachment using the attachment manager at the bottom of each post. If it's 88 pages long, the site won't accept it as it'll be too big. The way to get around this is to use the later versions of winzip to split the file into multiple smaller files and upload all of those files together. The disadvantage to this is that people who want to download the document will have to download all the files and have to have winzip installed in order to merge the files into one again at the other end.

I need to set up my own personal webpage, so I can post such notes, and just provide links. Then again, I've been thinking this for years. :-) In the mean time, I'll email them to anyone who asks.

There are third party providers that will give you this service for free. There are quite a number of sites you can upload the file to and provide the link to those who you want to download it. Some providers are better than others.
