Default Thanks, Thanked, Laughs & Laughs at

So what is what? What's the difference between Thanks and Thanked, and Laughs and Laughs at? I just want to make sure I'm understanding my stats correctly..

Thanks and laughs are the ones you give by clicking on the buttons, the others are the ones you get by your buttons getting clicked. I think.

Though it occurs to me that I get absolutely no points for my kids pushing my buttons.

Eowyn is correct. Thanks and Laughs are the ones you give. Thanked and Laughs at are the ones others give you.

Then you can activate the overly-analytical part of your brain when you start to wonder your "averages" and "ratios" of how much people like what you post!

Let's look at my stats:

Laughs:
- Posters laugh 401 times out of 169 posts. When I post something "funny", 2.37 posters also find it funny. But apparently I'm not all that "funny" because I'm only "funny" with 169 posts out of a total of 2,481 posts... or about 6% of the time.

So, when I'm funny, it's pretty good... I'm just not that funny all the time!

Thanked:
- Posters thank me 1414 times out of 790 posts. When I post something 'good', I get 1.78 posters who also find it 'good'. With 790 posts out of a total of 2,481... I guess I'm not funny, but I contribute well overall. I average about 31% of my posts are "thanked"... so not too bad.

Now the REAL question will be this: Will I be "laughed at" in this post... or "thanked"?

I can't even do that. I started 6 years before the option to thank and laugh came to the site.

So you would first take your total posts and divide it by the number of years you've been on the site. Then subtract 6-years worth of posts to get your "net graded posts".

Then do your own analysis.

39,903 / 9 years = 4,433/year x 6 = 26,602 posts.

39,903 - 26,602 = 13,301 net graded posts.

(Although I bet you have been posting a lot more lately than you did in the early years...)

Well, I guess I'm not as "funny" or "thankful" as I should be!
