Default New here...hi!

Hi! I tried going by my real first name, but the user name picker wouldn't let me.

A family nickname is Zooba, so I figured that'd work.

As for the profile picture...well, I'm trying to lose some weight so my endocrinologist doesn't come over here and rip out my pancreas with her bare hands. 'Nuff said.

I am a 47 yo full-time working homeschooling mom in northeastern Colorado. Not LDS, but my best friend is. I know quite a bit about the church, and even got the Ensign for a while because of her. (She even turned me on to potato pearls, which are now my family's substitute for manna! Best instant potatoes EVER!)

I got hurt really badly by organized religion several years ago and was almost successful in a suicide attempt because of the pain I experienced. So I don't really "do" religion anymore, but I don't condemn people who do, and LDS people have always been pretty decent to me.

Married, 4 kids, 3 grown, 2 on their own. I've been an RN for 26 years. (WOW. Seeing that in print makes me feel like a real geezer!)

Posted a prayer request. If you feel so inclined, go look at it. I don't really pray anymore, either, so sometimes ask others to pray for an important request.

Nice to be here.

Welcome Zooba:

I am glad you came. Lots of very friendly and funny people here. I am sorry you had some problems in the past dealing with "fake religions". As far as organized, well, we are quite an organized bunch. God is a God of order and He has sent us on His errand and we must obey. Organization is just so that every one knows what it needs to do and it is primarily about serving others. So we won't trample over each others toes He makes assignments and areas of responsibilities for those.

Beyond that, we are here to help you in any way we can, support you if you need it and encourage you to seek, pray and inquire of the Lord what He wold have you do.

Welcome

OH! I know! Potato Pearls are the best! One thing the LDS church gets right is comfort food!

Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy. Looking forward to reading you. I will go take a look at your prayer request.

Wishing you well!
