Default Twilight Zone

I thought I did this once before, but evidently not. I'm a mother, grandmother, over the hill (close to 60) latter day saint. I just finished reading the "lds" chat. I could barely recognize the language. I thought the purpose of this site was to "win friends and influence people" to the only kingdom of God on the earth. My understanding is that the glory of God is intelligence. To their credit, though, the chat was free of obscenities. This may be a little more than expected for an introduction. However, I had in mind to see if I can befriend others who may want to chat in standard English and in uplifting conversation.rrh

Welcome! I know what you mean by chat being in another language. It takes some getting used to. I prefer standard English myself.

Welcome to the Forum.

The fast pace and severely abbreviated language is why I avoid Chat. I stick to the forums. I consider the forum the heart any way.

Read through as much of the boards as you like, and don't be afraid to respond to an old topic. You just may be breathing new life to it with your thoughts and opinions.

Again, welcome to the Forum.

Iggy

Hi there, rrh08......welcome to the site.

"standard English"..."abbreviated language" ...I know what you mean; I get thrown by the use of initials. There are times I have NO IDEA what they mean......(I do not even like to use contractions...)

Hi rrh... welcome. I dont go to chat that much as I am from Norway and the chat is a bit too fast for me. I am maybe a bit younger than you... but not much if any. See you around.
