Default New and very conflicted

Hi all :-)

I found this forum just in time! I was doing a Google search looking for some support on a very touchy subject. I'm sure I'll be posting over on the Advice board soon!

Just to introduce myself, though, I'm a 30 year old single LDS girl living in Utah. I come from an *extremely* religious family, and haven't always followed the same path as everyone else in my family. I love the church, and believe in it with everything that I have, however I've had many trials which have dragged me down here and there (I know, I know, who hasn't?!?) Not to mention the whole "30 and single" thing is a trial in and of itself with trying to fit in anywhere. Singles wards in Utah are *filled* with 18 & 19 year olds and the most common questions I would get at church had nothing to do with doctrine. "Are you seeing anyone?" and "Why aren't you married?" were the 2 questions I had to be prepared to answer at any moment. I then tried going back to a family ward where I, instead, got all of the lessons which taught about how to treat my husband and raise my family :-) Talk about uncomfortable! Because of this, my activity has been on and off, but my goal is to keep it up the best I can.

About a month ago, I got engaged to the love of my life. I know how pukey that sounds, but again, being single for 30 years, I think I'm allowed some pukiness when I found what I thought I never would :-)

That's me in a nutshell. Well...with regard to the church. I'm sure more will come out as I (hopefully) frequent the boards a little more.

I was 25 and desperate... non member and well found someone (a non menmer)... it did not last. At 40 I found the love of my puke... I mean my life.... I tell you hes had me though hell... but I still am here and I think I still love him... weird! BTW he was almost 50 then and given up all hope... but you know what the church tells the single men to do... yeah to marry... so he made one mistake... went to a big singles gathering, where I ... tehn a member... also went... rest is history. You might find some of it on my page.

I suggest all singles would go further away to seek for accompanion. It is not thta terrible to marry outside your own country, just keep the religion same. It gives many more challenges, but I am sure many of you might be suprised. There is good life outside your own country too you know!
In Scandinavia it would be Fest i Nord! For under about 40... If they had has the same agelimits then we would never have met...

One thing I know when you meet the love of your life it will be such a great happening you wont have any doubt... AND it will be that from both sides! I could never imagined I could love someone so deeply as I did my husband.

while you are still single you should attend the singles institute class. My son says it is awesome and they don't talk about getting married.

You should also check out the "other" singles program. They have FHE, firesides, activities. Take that new sweetheart with you, It will be fun!
