Default New to site

Hello,

I am an investigator from Canada and just stumbled across this site. I have been searching for truth my whole life and have attended many different churches looking for it.
My first meeting with the missionaries really intrigued me with the LDS church. The faith and conviction of these young men have is unlike any I have found in my search. I have learned alot with my few meetings and hopefully will learn more from this great website.

Hi glenn, welcome to the site...

I think our Missionaries are awesome. Hopefully, in three years, my son will be among those with the "faith and conviction" you speak of.

Talking the next 'new':-)

Hi!
I'm Kasia from Poland, and I'm interested in the everyday life of LDS believers. I'm catholic, but I want to know you because of the diploma project topic that I've chosen. However that's not the only reason. I'm fond of learning about other lifestyles, beliefs and perspectives. Let me know you all!

It takes a disciplined person to listen to convictions which are different from their own. ~ Dorothy Fuldheim

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Default welcome

I too am new to the site and am from Canada. My wife and I have been members for 12 years and don't regret it at all.

Missionaries are wonderful, I currently am a Ward Mission Leader and help coordinate what they do, I admire what they do very much even when we some times get one who needs a kick in the pants to get them on the right course again. Most of them try very hard to help.

Lots of things can seem confusing when you start out, take your time and ask questions. We all have different knowledge about different things and lack in other areas. Ask, ask, ask, and pray when things sound wrong to you. Members are human and we can sometimes pass along incorrect information by mistake and mix in personal beliefs as well.

The Missionaries are great for answering questions but turn to the members also as sometimes they understand the pressures and trials of the world better, and more so when we are trying to change our lives to live the principles of the Gospel.
