Default Hi, From a Well Traveled Member

Hello,

My name is Bob Stanton. I am married to my wife Sharon. I have two great step kids, Meghan; who has 3 kids of her own; and Sean who is attending college in SC. Meghan just graduated from Army boot camp and is in the SC National Guard.

I have been in the Church for 35 years. I just turned 55. Sharon and I were sealed in the Raleigh Temple back in 2000.

Having been in the military for 20 years, I have visited many parts of the world and lived in numerous areas. I have always found the Church wherever I went. The faces and accents were different, but the people were always the same.

I was born in Jersey City, NJ and joined the Church in Great Falls, MT and moved immediately to Germany. I returned to Great Falls, moved to Idaho Falls. I later moved to Bremerton, WA, then on to Norfolk, VA where Sharon and I met at a Church Valentines Dance. We were married and moved to South Carolina. Since then, we have lived in Ruskin, FL, Silverdale, WA and Provo, UT. We currently live in Ogden (West Haven), UT.

I have been a Ward Clerk numerous times, and have held almost every position in the scouting program for 30 years. I also have been a Ward Sunday School President and assistant Librarian. I have presently been without a calling for quite a few years since I was moving. Two weeks ago, I had an interview for advancement in the priesthood to High Priest. Sharon has worked in the library and Primary.

Bob Stanton

Hi great to have you here. When i was around 20 I wished they ahd taken girls in military... but it is ok now... Welcome anyway!

Dear Newbie: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums.

While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab.

Do enjoy the site...and again, WELCOME!
