Just be glad you aren't moving to Spokane in California! I hear that place is a real pit.

I spent my high school years in small towns near Spokane, so I don't have a lot of experience in Spokane itself. But I know there are two (by now, maybe three) stakes in the city. Very strong wards, good people. High schools in eastern WA are very sports-oriented, so your boys should have no problem finding activities. Do they like to wrestle? The schools tend to be pretty good academically, though of course it depends on where you go. I don't remember Shadle Park or North Central as being particularly highly thought of, though of course that may have changed in the intervening 3500 years.

Here's a site to look around in. Might give you some good insights. I linked the high schools, but you can navigate to middle and elementary levels too. Spokane Public High Schools

It is really too bad that there are some people out there who are "rumor educated" having never been through/to Spokane let alone have lived there. It depends upon what one is looking for in a city that determines whether it is good or bad. There are 400,000 people living within 30 minutes drive of downtown Spokane and obviously they chose to move/remain here.

I was an athletic coach at the university and Olympic level for 32 years before entering residential real estate 8 years ago. Having been a teacher in Spokane, substituted in the schools, and attended school/college here in Spokane then I think I can help those who want to receive an education about Spokane.
