Default Newbie Gadianton Robber - Am I Welcome??

Hey y'all,

Thought I'd take a minute and introduce myself.

My mom and I joined the church when I was a child. I have been more or less brought up in the Gospel, raised by a single mom. Paraphrasing Nephi - Life has been good to me. I've had the privilege of serving a mission to South America, marriage to a beautiful and caring wife, awesome children, more education (and incumbent debt) than I know what to do with, a good job, and an enduring testimony. Lived in CA, UT, MI, and AL.

Not to say that my life isn't without it's challenges - I tend to see the negative side, I'm critical (which is not always bad when you're a scientist, but it is an occupational hazard!!), faith doesn't come easy; need I go on?? What keeps me going is that I am learning to trust my Savior. He really does make all things possible!! More importantly, He cares about me specifically - which has/is taking me effort to include myself in His "Circle of Friends."

As for my nom de plume, while running by the phone at home, my friend saw a message, stopped abruptly (I ran into his back, I was following so closely), and returned to the desk. His brain had "seen" the note as saying "Kishkumen called." Still makes me laugh to remember that moment.

Cheers

Welcome... luckily I am too far to be robbed
So officially:
Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums.

While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab.

Welcome! I was hoping your screen name was the opening line of a witty zinger. Something like "Kishkumen called - he wants his stilleto back!" (said to someone in the act of backstabbing someone for political gain).

Anyway, welcome!

Ohhh....
