Default hello!

hello!

I'm a first year (in credit hours) seminary student, pursuing a degree in apologetics and worldview. I've found in the past that reading about another faith or worldview is incomplete without actually interacting with people of that faith. I also have a lot of fun going back and forth, and iron sharpens iron!

Hi phi - welcome to the forum!

Kudos for wanting to know about our faith. The world can sure use more apologists arguing for the reality and goodness of God!

Keep in mind that this isn't a debate forum. We're happy to talk all day about what we believe and why we believe it, but if you're looking to spar or argue, I'll have to suggest another forum like the Mormon Dialogue and Discussion Board.

Welcome again. So what school are you attending?

Ohhh....
If I were a rich man...

Welcome to the site! You will get quite a bit of lively discussion from a number of people here with many different views both within and without the LDS faith.

Are those hawks in the background of your avatar? It's kinda blury, but looks like red-tails. I volunteered at a Raptor Center for two years while I was going to college and I absolutely loved it. Would love even more to get started in falconry, but first I have to be able to afford the facilities.

Welcome. I'll try and keep it easy on you in regards to the apologetics.

I've been doing it for several decades now. I hope along the way we will not only have the chance to discuss differences, but the similarities, as well. After all, Christ's gospel should unite us more than it divides us.

Thank-you for the link! I've bookmarked it. I'm not looking for a fist fight of course, but if that's a more appropriate place for certain deeper, tougher, nuts-n-bolts discussions then I will definitely keep that in mind.

I'm attending the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, though I'm not exactly a Baptist. My wife and I found an awesome little Evangelical Free Church when we moved to the area and they welcomed us like family. Working through 2nd semester Greek Syntax.

thank you again!

Hi Phi.

Sorry, couldn't resist

I like your point about interacting with the actual people of a faith. Hope you can find some good answers here.
