Hello and welcome to the lds.net forums!

I am also a convert. There are great people here. Listen to the Spirit so that you can know difference within the messages.
Even though there are lots of great members and non members of the church here , things that are spoken here still need to be filtered with the Spirit. Most have good intentions in their opinions, etc., however, we all make mistakes.
If you have any questions that arise and weigh heavy, you may want to consult your local missionaries or other leaders in your ward.
