Almost ever epoch in the Bible touches on the basic concepts of renewal and restoration in returning to G-d from the epoch of the Noah and the Ark to the return of Israel from Babylon and the parables of the prodigal son to the parable of the Good Samaritan. The theme of these epochs, stories and teachings create the main focus of the doctrine that we are not restored on our terms or by man’s efforts or according to our understanding but be must be lead by G-d and his power through a “pillar of light” under the direction of prophets and revelators – like Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Isaiah and others.

What are some scriptures that hint at the Restoration of the true church in the last days? THanks!!

We always referred to these two on the mish.

2 Thes. 2:1-3
and
Ezekial 37 with regards to the stick of judah and the stick of Joseph.

I think there is also a reference in Revelations and other places. I know I have been in classes where we answered this question all over the place, but I can't recall it all now. Perhaps you should look in LDS study guides. There might be something in the Old and New Testament ones.
