Does God live with an eternal family?

Not including any spirit children he begat once he became a god, does God live with an eternal family?

There is a Heavenly Mother for sure, and I assume that they gave birth to some children during their probationary time while getting a body and being tested on another planet. I also assume that they had physical parents and went through the same things that we are going through here on this planet.

When he died and was resurrected, his eternal family continued. Does that mean that he lives with his father and mother and sisters and brothers and children in the Celestial Kingdom?

For me, the doctrinal ideas that are supporting your assumptions are, imo, murky doctrinal waters. We don't know enough about these subjects and so my response must be....we don't know.

What we do know is that God experiences eternal increase. I think that is synonymous with eternal family. I honestly don't feel comfortable outlining the nitty gritty of how that looks as we just haven't been allowed to look at God's family photo album.

Nice thought... What about our own families if we get to the celestial kingdom one day? How are we supposed to be with all of them, if we are to become gods ourselves? Families are forever! OK, but how??? I try to picture my mortal parents become gods, create a world or two and have spirit children. Then my brothers and their families. Now what about me and my wife? If I stay forever with my family, my parents and my parents in law would have to stay together forever in some sort of way also because they don't want to miss their daughter. (Not sure if that will work anyway

)You can keep on going if you want to. That's not even counting grand parents or my own kids.

By the way - God told Moses "2. I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (2.Moses)

What if he really IS the only God? No one before, no one after - but eternal?
Why should I not believe the words "10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." (Isa 43:10)

Your assumption is correct. The pattern is set forth in this life of what is to be. They are only seperated by distance.

Yeah, I think we define "together" differently here sometimes than perhaps God does.

A man and a woman are married on earth, bound if you will. But, does that mean they are joined at the hip, never apart from each other?

Of course not.

"Sealed for all time and eternity" must reflect a similar definition.

I also have similar thoughts about the resurrection, where we are "rejoined" with our bodies, "never again to be separated." I believe "separated" is "death" to God, since in His sphere there is no death.

But, that's another discussion.

I think that we sometimes get lost in our definition of "family". I picture our eternal family not as individual, nuclear units, but as a wide net encompassing all of humanity.

I had an Anti-Mormon pose this question to me -- actually, more of a statement telling me eternal family was impossible if I was busy creating my own world, while my sons were busy managing their own locations elsewhere.

I thought it was a pretty weak argument actually. Today, I am building my own stewardship here in the Southern US, while my parents and siblings are scattered across Canada, building their own families. We still have our family relationships -- support each other when necessary, remember birthdays, and get together and have legal family status. Even in our primitive world, compared ot heavenly standards, we have Internet, Phone, plane travel, and other means of staying in touch with each other. So physical distance is likely not an issue in the eternities, provided we are within the same state of salvation; ie Celestial Kingdom where such relationships are possible.
