Default When Good Plans Don’t Work Out

I am giving a FHE lesson tonight on the following article in the July Ensign:

When Good Plans Don?t Work Out - Ensign July 2012 - ensign

I feel that even though the article is directly addressing YSA the principles apply to all ages.

Have any of you read it and if so what are your thoughts.

This article is perfect for anyone. We have children that go away from the gospel, even though we have hopes and dreams for them. The economy is horrible and many lose jobs or can't find work. Divorce happens. People cheat, even after making promises in the temple. Husbands and fathers are underemployed and wifes have o choice but to working, leaving children at home. Life just doesn't go as planned. The gospel is a solid foundation that doesn't change. That is where we need to plant our feet. The world will change around us, but the gospel is our foundation. Christ is our plan A. Everything else revolves around that. Not the other way around. Not matter where we are in live, no matter what plans fail, if we turn to Christ, our foundation, our lives will still be full of purpose.
I totally see this as a mesage to everyone.

Jennarator, I was thinking along the same lines. All our children were born before I turned 30. I promised I would have all the babies Heavenly Father wanted to send me, but I wanted to be done by 30 so that by 50 hubby and I could have some time together. We never dreamed that we'd be raising a little one in our 50s. Not our plan, but I'm happy with my Heavenly Father's plan..... even on the days when its really hard.

There is a reason women's childbearing years are in their 20s/30s (for the most part). At 50+ its really hard.

Yes, I have a feeling I will have one, or more that never marry. One of mine, tho still in regular school has some emotional and social issues. He will make it so I never have that time with my husband. And we never had it before because we both were married before and had children. We'll never get alone time. Plus at 38 and a half I just had a baby, nd my husband wants one more.
