Sometimes it's not totally about the animation...it's about the message. I grew up on Frosty the Snowman and the Rudolph movies. Very low budget..very cheesy looking today....but I still love them.
Tyrone..I think they look great. Keep up the great work.

Tyrone I need to clarify it. On my last message i was in no way saying your video was cheesy looking. I was just trying to make a point. That we don't always have to have THE best animation etc to still enjoy a story or a message.
Sorry if that sounded otherwise. I seriously meant no offense if it was taken that way.

No worries Pam, I understood what you meant and appreciate your concern.
I may have come off as easily offended, but I'm not. I do really like criticism, but some comments are less helpful than others. Words can be taken in a myriad of ways. I think the the interpretation of a "mean-spirited" remark is left mostly to the reader, but sometimes they are blatantly obvious. For example here is part of a 1 star review left for Scripture Bugs "... After my kids saw this they went and stomped on an ant hill". Obviously mean spirited and I think the person posting such a comment had ulterior motives in posting a poor review as I have good evidence to suggest that this comment was made by someone connected to a competing product in the LDS market.
Communication on the internet is interesting since there is no consequence or sense of reciprocity because it is mostly anonymous. It's easy for someone to say something they might not otherwise say while in person.
I would love to make a second episode of Scripture Bugs, but again, we're a small business getting started and BrioCyrain the ideals you speak to are not the realities we have to deal with. I wish I had money fall from heaven in the form of investors so we could really give Scripture Bugs the royal treatment as far as animation and story goes, but we have to start from the ground up. We can't simply say "Dear Excel, I want Scripture Bugs to look like Toy Story 2, please send monies to me so I can put together our studio". It took Pixar years to get where they're at and they started off making short films and commercials.
I don't want to further defend our efforts because our work should speak for itself. We will continue to build our company until maybe some fine day yes, we will have a studio that can produce Pixar quality films for the LDS Market. Until then, your constructive criticism is very welcome!

I, as well, appreciate your comments Tyrone. Of course my concern is when asking for constructive criticism it doesn't turn into complete negativity. There are ways in answering that can provide suggestions.
I wish you the best in your endeavors. I think you've got a great start. Again I enjoyed what I did see. I know if my kids were younger, they would thoroughly enjoy them.

Well the message is what the animation is based on, but if there was no funding for this cartoon then it just makes the situation sound even worse. Yes Pixar and Dreamworks have come along way but they also put alot of effort into the quality from day one, if Scripture Bugs' animation quality is what we LDS members do for "starting off" projects then I hope we adapt soon, and I am not saying tyrone or his support is incapable, but seems like LDS 3D films are going to have a long way to go.
I discussed with my dad why the producers of this project couldn't hire a few BYU students and use a copy of renderman to up the process but he said that might be said as a "BYU endorsement".
I was just a bit surprised since I expected more from the LDS film community on such matters, and I am bit disappointed on our lack of effort to support people like tyrone and his friend. I am pretty sure the stories are funny and have plenty of good music, but I just hope Scripture Bugs will be improved along the way like you said tyrone.
