Default Charly movie kind of Sad and surprising.

Hi.

I just saw this movie called Charly ( 2002) and it was kind of sad.

First it started out as a comedy of a new york girl who visited her parents in Utah and how she would make fun on the mormon guy all the time.

Then she went from being a jerk to being a mormon like in a flash which was a shocking and surprising transition considering how she was making fun of it 2 minutes ago.

Then I thought it was the end of the movie when she married the guy and had a baby and but then out of nowhere, she gets cancer and dies. Really sad stuff.

I wonder why they could have not ended the movie after they got married. It was kind of like that movie American beauty with a shocking ending.

Was that based on a old LDS book name Charley?

Yes it was. The book was better; they crammed too much into the movie, hence the flashing forward.

Really? It was hard to take it seriously... not exactly the best acting (that actress kinda bugs me). BUT I cried. I think I'm still in denial about that.

What really bugs me is how dark the movie is. There wasn't any point of comedy relief, it just went to depressing to ultimate depressing.
