Default Abbreviations

Just thought I'd bring this up as a reminder. To myself as well as I'm guilty many times.

Though this is an LDS site, we have many of other religions that enjoy coming here or come here looking for answers.

That being said, not everyone is aware of what our abbreviations mean. So I'm suggesting that we try not to use them so that all know what the meaning is.

Examples: EQ, YW, YM, HP, SP, the list goes on.

While those of us who have been LDS for quite a time understand them, others may not. Even those that are new members.

Thanks.

i think we should just put all the meanings in one place (here could be good ), not just the church ones but regular internet ones that we use here as well. new ppl in chat often ask about brb, bbl, ty....

JARGON by Lawrence Heywood

My son's a CTR ... I go to PEC.
I work for CES....I study the TG.
I read the B of M .... I probe the D&C.
I search the KJV ... I ponder the JST.
Today in BYC ... we planned for EFY.
I stayed a little after ... and had a PPI.
The YM and YW ... are putting on a play.
It's one that I remember ...we did in MIA.
Before our oldest son ...went in the MTC,
He helped the BSA .... complete their SME.
Soon our oldest daughter ... is heading for the Y.
Soon our oldest clothing ... is going to DI.
Now, if you've understood ... this alphabetic mess,
The chances are quite good ... that you are LDS.
