In September’s First Presidency Message in the Ensign, President Hinckley issued a challenge I take very seriously.
"I offer a challenge to members of the Church throughout the world and to our friends everywhere to read or reread the Book of Mormon. If you will read a bit more than one and one-half chapters a day, you will be able to finish the book before the end of this year."

I am a little behind, and so I have setup a schedule that starting today, I will be able to finish The Book of Mormon on Dec. 21st by reading only 2 chapters a day. I have included this schedule on the board calendar, and hope that you will join with me in meeting President Hinckley's challenge.

You can view the schedule by clicking the calendar link at the top of the page, in the navigation, or clicking the link below.

I really like Spencer's idea of a book club. I think it would be a great idea to start a forum dedicated to discussing what we're reading and to help keep us all up to date on where we should be. If there are enough who are interested, I will go ahead and get that setup.

I recommend that someone start a new thread for each book we read with the time line for how long we will be studying that book in the first post. For instance, a thread for Ether showing the dates we will begin and end reading, and another thread for 1 Nephi showing the dates for reading that book. And then of course we would talk about that book within that thread.

And btw, I’m not volunteering to be the one to start each thread because I am trying to break my addiction of posting on this board, and it’s possible that I could just stop posting at any time now.
