(KSL News) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to build two new temples in Arizona. The temples will be built in Gila Valley and Gilbert, Ariz. This will bring the total number of LDS temples to 134 already in operation or in the planning and construction phases.

Gilbert is 38 miles north of me- nearly in a straigt line, so it will be closer and easier to get to than the Mesa Temple which is 50 miles north and three changes of highway for me.

I guess the Mesa temple was getting too crowded! But I wish they would have found a place in Queen Creek for the new temple.

I'm happy for Gila Valley, but bummed for us in Tucson. Neither helps us at all. Kinda feel forgotton here... especially with Gilbert being 10 miles from Mesa.

How much does a temple cost? I heard that Snowflake raised the money to pay for their temple. Maybe we can pay for a temple to be built here in Tucson. We have 5 stakes and more outlying.
