Hey Guys:

Been looking forever for an LDS site that operates like myspace.com, but much cleaner and regulated. Just recently I came across a cool new site called Mormon Cafe. It is located at mormoncafe.com. Check it out, it is really pretty cool and the membership is free.

I decided to join about a week or so ago and have had pretty good luck meeting cool people. It definetely is in the building process, but I am surprised at how fast it seems to be growing.

And it is not one of those cheesy cloned LDS dating sites!

Rick

Mormon Cafe, you say! An interesting choice for a name, from dictionary.com:

ca•fé also ca•fe n. - A coffeehouse, restaurant, or bar.

[French, coffee, café, from Italian caffè, coffee, from Ottoman Turkish qahveh. See coffee.]

Café - Caf'e \Ca`f['e]"\, n. [F. See Coffee.] A coffeehouse; a restaurant; also, a room in a hotel or restaurant where coffee and liquors are served.

Café - n : a small restaurant where drinks and snacks are sold [syn: coffeehouse, coffee shop, coffee bar]

LOL Maureen!!

Are you just being nit picky with this poor member? Teasing? I'm sure the builders of the website didn't delve into their dictionary before choosing the word Cafe...surely they were just copying the Cyber Cafes!!!

I just joined. It looks cool.

Since we're talking about other sites, check out www.mormonchat.freepowerboards.com. It's only a couple months old, but I'm hoping to make it a fun place to hang out. If you like it tell your friends. If you don't like it tell me.

Oh come on Maureen, look up the word gymnasium (used to describe an exercise facility in the USA or a high school in Europe). The original definition is "A place to exercise nude". If today's practices reflected at all the original meaning I think Bill Clinton would go from chubby to exercise guru in a very short time.
