I have a bible that is 6x16x10 inces. It is printed as the 1646 version; the first finnish bible. My mother owned one of the first finnish bibles a real one too but gave it to my cousin, who is a preast in teh Lutheran Church as she tought that I would not be interested in an old bible as I am not even lutheran . She has some other old finnish bibles too. A "small " war bible ab. 8x 10x10 ... Think of carrying that in your packpack! However many were saved by the book as the bullet stopped there. This is the most valuable one as so many got destroyed by the war.

Uh Pam does that mean that I need to start making everything kind of clare for takeoff??

If you're willing to wait a while for shipping, you can order scriptures through the church's official website. That eliminates the middle man. I was trying to buy the cheapest set of extra large print at a book store, but when I realized that the soft, thin-cover bible was a whole fifty bucks, I looked it up on lds.org, and discovered that you could get the same thing for a mere eight dollars. I've received my five dollar triple, but the Bible is still on it's way due to back orders. It takes a long time, sometimes a month or two, but in the end, it's the cheapest unused alternative I am aware of.

There are many cheaper places to buy books and scripures than Deseret Book -- in fact just about ANY place is less expensive.
