i really need to share this because it was so uplifting to me, and i hope maybe it helps someone else.
my brother told our entire family that he was gay many years ago. it was really hard for everyone, but, although no one likes it, we still love, because he will always and forever be my brother.
well, after going to our family reunion and spending time surrounded by the gospel, and with all the children and their families, he has decided that he wants to change his life.
he wants to have a family, he wants to be married, he wants to serve a mission.
this has strengthened my testimony so much it is unbelieveable.
i thank the Lord for giving me such an amazing family, that with his help, we were able to open the eyes of someone who seemed too far gone. but the Lord knew that he wasn't
*note: this was not intended to start a subject on homosexuality. i was sharing an experience, and i'd REALLY appreciate it if it doesn't turn into a debate as to whether "being gay" is a choice. thanks

I won't turn it into a debate about whether or not it's a choice, but I sure wouldn't want to be the woman who married him. I know a woman who is married to an old college friend of mine who happens to be gay, but is trying to suppress it. I feel that one day he will leave her and their children with their world turned upside down!

Well hopefully that won't happen. Just hope for the best and be there for them. Set an example that maybe he will want to follow.

Deepthinker... that is great news... I am so happy about your brother. I personally have never seen a turnaround as amazing as that.

thank you so much for your support. i am amazed at how much of a difference it has made in our home life when he is at home with us. he's nicer, friendlier, more helpful, and i love seeing my brother go to church and play the piano in sacrament meeting. this is amazing to me to see how drastically the Lord can work. i have such a testimony of that now.

Wow, well I'm sure the lord really did answer your prayers.

Take the so-called standard of living. What do most people mean by "living"? They don't mean living. They mean the latest and closest plural approximation to singular prenatal passivity which science, in its finite but unbounded wisdom, has succeeded in selling their wives. ~e.e. cummings, Introduction, Poems, 1954

It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, but that not every one is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so if every planet in the Universe has a population of zero then the entire population of the Universe must also be zero, and any people you may actually meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination. ~Douglas Adams, The Original Hitchhiker Radio Script

DeepThinker~
I am very happy for you and your family..... It must have been a very hard, soulsearching decision for him to make...and with a loving, supportive family like he appears to have in your family..... it looks very good for him.
Unconditional love..... works wonders sometimes
