My prayers are with you. The fact that your feet are pointed to the Lord in your search is a step in the right direction. Feel free to ask questions if you have them.

So great to hear you are reading the Book of Mormon. I hope you will read the introductory pages about how the prophet Joseph Smith began this great book and about the three and eight witnesses. We'll be glad to pray for you. As you pray about the book you will feel the spirit as the promise in Moroni 10:4-5 talks about. Post back if you have any questions. There are lots of people here that can answer your questions.

There are many that don't feel the Spirit even after one reading. Sometimes it takes multiple readings to finally feel the Spirit. Don't dismay and don't give up.

Shadowhunter, the best answer I can give you is to read Alma chapter 32 and then ponder what it is trying to tell you. Read it a few more times and continue to ponder what it is saying and then continue reading the Book of Mormon.
Alma 32 is one of the greatest if not the greatest verses on faith you will probably read. It describes it very well what it is you need to feel to know that it is true. But it takes time and sometimes a trial of your faith first to experience an answer to your prayers.
