You're in my prayers, brother. Let God into your heart and just focus on healing. Don't let the adversary make you think that you are worthless and that your situation is hopeless. Take advantage of the atonement.

Best wishes.

I know where you're at. Pray constantly--always have a prayer in your heart. Trust Him. He loves you. Satan has no power over you if you let our Savior in. You can beat anything, if you trust Him!

I will most definitely pray for you. God bless.

Hey Friend! How are you?

Hope! Don't forget hope! Overcoming addiction is tough business but it doesn't make you unworthy or worthless as a person. Yes the addictive behavior creates those emotions and Satan beats us over the head with it at times. But there is always hope! And hope isn't only found at the end of long roads. It is found in every step of difficult journeys! Even the steps that cause us to stumble.

I understand hopelessness more than I can explain, but I am also learning the joy of hope. It is a state of mind that sometimes we have to fight tooth and nail to maintain.

Stay studying those scriptures. Stay in an attitude of prayer!! These two are anchors to hope. Remember, you can study and pray in what ever state you find yourself! Satan is the one that tells us to hide from the Lord or teaches a man shame and not to pray. Hear his voice and tell him to GET THEE HENCE with a big fat kick in the fanny!

I am sending you my one of my best hugs and and energy for strength and hope I can send! You ARE a good good man LDSpunkrocker! And don't you let anyone, even your struggles, make you believe any different.

Add my prayers to the list of those who care. Stay the course. Stay determined. You can and will slay these dragons. One day at a time. One moment at a time.

LDSpunkrocker:

I feel your pain. I have been addicted to porn and masturbation for over 20 years. It has almost destroyed my family and continues to plague me.

Your only hope of rescue lies in the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and to get back up one more time than you fall. Endure to the end. Remain prayerful and read your scriptures.

There is an LDS adaption of the 12 Steps online at Heart-t-Heart (see my signature for the link). I highly recommend you taking a look at the forum and other resources this site offers.

We all come to earth with different weaknesses and challenges. Sometimes I think I'd like to trade mine for someone else's -- but I bet if I did that I would realize that I had it pretty good with my old addiction. Not that addiction is good ... just that we should not wish for another life other than the one we have.

It's not just about STOPPING the acting-out with whatever you "drug" of choice is. It is about forming a relationship with Jesus Christ -- which takes years. It is about the WHOLE you -- not just something nasty that you do in order to try and feel better and not have pain.

I wish you good luck. We're here for you.

Tom

I'll be praying for you. Addictions are tough. Keep trying even if you mess up. You will get there. Take care.

Tell your friends and family that can hang with you and keep your head out of it. Let the LORD bless you through them.

You are not worthless, just remember when you go through those periods that when you come out you have experiences unique to fit you, and you can help other people with the same problems. I had this same feeling of worthlessness before, try to focus on the good things the important things, remember that you have talents and skills unique to you. Remember that when you recognize what your weaknesses are you can make them strengths.
Personal motto-Train hard, learn as much as you can, and perfect your talents, you never know when someone might need you.
