Default My husband may lose his job

Nearly half of my husband's co workers were fired today. He's not sure if he'll have a job tomorrow.

Our car is not working and is in the shop (they're not sure what the issue is, it'll act like it's about to start but won't catch and then hours later it'll work again, which only seems to happen AFTER we get it to the shop), which means I have to walk, or take the bus, which makes life more difficult for going to school. I normally drop off my daughter at school and then drive immediately after to my school. We'll also need a car so my husband can get to interviews and such.

I may need to look for a job as well which of course makes things still more complicated. My husband and I may have to reverse roles for a while. . .

There's a lot going on and prayers would be really helpful right about now.

My prayers are with you and I hope your transportation situation works out soon. It's a tough time for many of us, myself included. I hope this "7 years of famine" ends soon.

Sadly, your story is becoming all too familiar. My daughter (a single mom) lost her job and it took her over almost a year before she found another. She finally had to settle for $10.50 an hour which was a $6.50 loss from her previous job. Thank goodness we had suffiecent food storage and savings to help her till she found employment and we continue to help her. She got very discouraged at times, but too her credit, she would get up the next day and go put in more applications. Good luck on your situtation.

How stressful. I will pray for you. One of my best friends just lost her job because they're shutting down her program and she is 40 weeks pregnant. Her husband's company is also making some big changes that involve requirements for him to get a bunch more tools, driving further, etc. It's a very uncertain time for so many people.

Look, if he loses his job, this is not the end of the world, it is simply a time to take advantage of new opportunities. Just say: "Well LORD, that was good while it lasted and I thank you. What have you got in store for us now?" It really isn't that bad. People change jobs every day. People are laid off every day. People are hired every day. Does this mean a change in lifestyle? Does this mean liquidation? It may or may not, but don't be afraid of any of it.

A friend of mine gave the keys to his house to the bank two years ago and moved his family into a small duplex. They have been happy ever since. They saved a ton of money, he changed employment and started a new business with his brother in law. They built up a heavy down payment and recently bought a much nicer home at a much lower price than the one they lost. They couldn't be happier.

It is necessary for all of us to be flexible with these things. You may end up moving completely out of state in pursuit of a new livelihood and find that you enjoy the place much more than your current residence and further notice that there are better opportunities for you in that new location.

The LORD has plans for you and these times that seem like travail and adversity can like the pains of child-birth be the coming forth of something far greater than previously imagined.

God bless you and be with you.
