Default 3 year old

Please pray for my 3 year old little friend. She told her daddy and I tonight that her mother has been molesting her. It's beyond sad.

It's probably not something appropriate to share here, but I'm wondering how this 3 year old actually communicated the crime. Getting information about genuine molestation from a 3 year old can be quite a tricky thing. They often are totally unaware about appropriate vs. inappropriate stuff, and occasionally communicate something appropriate as if it were something inappropriate, and vice versa.

Prayers are nice, but professional help is essential - get the police and social workers involved.

She's a very verbal 3 year old who was showing inappropriate behaviors that are flags for sexual abuse. Her father asked her if anyone had touched her there and she got tears in her eyes and said yes but she couldn't say who. After being promised that the person who touched her would never be alone with her again she said ,
"Mommy showed me how to play with my na-na".
Her father is taking her to the pediatrician Monday and he will alert the sheriff. That will start the ball rolling for counseling, etc.
Thanks you for your prayers.

What a cruddy situation. I am so sorry you are experiencing this.

This is going to sound bad (and politically liberal), but pray for the mother as well. She, most likely, is a victim as well. I don't like the cops or DCFS, but they are important in cases like this. The child needs help, but so does the mother. DO NOT forget her in your prayers, forgiveness is possible, but the path is filled with the thorns of social condemnation and personal guilt . . . she needs help, too.

You're right Orge. I called the Temple this morning and had all their names put in. There's a personal ancedote behind it but the end result is that whomever I happen to be angry with at the time, that's the name that gets added to the Temple prayer list along with those I love.

This type of thing just sickens me. I will definitely pray for that little girl, as well as both her parents. Heavenly Father loves the mother too and aches that she feels driven to do something like this. Hopefully she can get the help she needs. And the father is no doubt feeling all sorts of horrible emotions right now, so he needs prayers as well.
