Default Prayers for Tyler

Hey to all. I want to ask for prayers for my oldest son Tyler. He is 17 and is in jail. He deserves to be there but as a type and cry I am heart broken. I love him so much. I am scared for him. He is a type one diabetic that he does not control. He has been doing pot and drinking heavily for quite some time. We had no idea. He is so lost right now. Please pray for him that H/F will soften his heart and help him through this very painful situation he has got himself into. Also pray that the prosecuting attorney will listen to his Mom and Me and remand him to a facility that will get him help for the drugs and alcohol and his diabetes. Not prison or jail. He will die in there. Thank you to all.

It takes a disciplined person to listen to convictions which are different from their own. ~ Dorothy Fuldheim

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

It is important that you strengthen and care for yourself, so that when Tyler is ready, you will be in a position that you will be able to help him.

I've been thru this with my son. He isn't diabetic but I worried about his asthma when he was in jail. He spent 18 months just sitting there and thinking. It took about 6 months before he stopped blaming his circumstances on others. It took another 6 months for him to see how deeply his situation affected me and the rest of the family. I prayed God would keep him in jail until he really, really learned what he needed to learn.
He's been clean for 2 years now and says he'll never drink again. I believe him.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that this may be the best thing that could happen to Tyler, especially if he gets the help he needs. I'll be praying for him every night as I pray for my son.

I had a close family member go to jail when he was young.

Honestly, it was the best thing that could happen to him. When he stopped blaming his situation on others, he ended up going and getting a good job.

He now has a wonderful wife, has been married for 10 years and a wonderful daughter. This could be the best thing ever for him.

However, if all he's been doing is smoking pot, I wouldn't hang my hopes on him being remanded to a facility. There's no evidence pot is addictive, which is far less than can be said for alcohol and tobacco. Usually, people do it when they're bored or rebellious.

We have court this morning. 2nd hearing. The pros attorney says he will drop the 2 felony charges but he will need to plead guilt to attempted assault. Which is a lesser crime. We are hoping that they see that we have not given up on Tyler and that we are doing everything we can to get him what he needs. Hoping that they will help us get him into some form of program that deals with his many problems. Thanks to all that are sending prayers for our family and for Tyler. They are felt and appreciated.

My dear sister, it is a heartbroken moment in our lives when our own children do not follow the path of the Master. I would ask you to not give up hope or faith in allowing GOD hands be manifested in your sons life. He may need this small experience to seek repentance. He may need this time to reflect his accountability before the Master. I do see a mothers love is the greatest key for your son eternal wellbeing. Now, I will state, as Nephi spoke to his sons in following the right path of mortality -
5: 10 And remember also the words which Amulek spake unto Zeezrom, ain the city of Ammonihah; for he said unto him that the Lord surely should come to redeem his people, but that he should not come to redeem them in their sins, but to redeem them from their sins.
Look at the bold statement closely. The Savior cannot redeem a person while their is no repentance but only redeem them from their sins when they begin the repentance process. You need to remind him of this simple principle. Now, I want you to personally seek the Godhead support in this matter for your son and yourself. This maybe a turning point in his life and perhaps add some greater testimony for your salvation. May the Savior grant you your desire and may the blessing of the Spirit may the impression upon your son to seek repentance. May the desire of your heart be granted by our Master when he begins the repentance process, the Spirit may soften the heart of those who stand in the court of the land. May GOD grant you comfort and support you during this crisis in your life.

Ohhh....

He tried to kill me and my oldest daughter with a rock. Assaulted my wife and youngest daughter.
