Default My aunt just passed away; please pray for my family

I just got word that my aunt, one of my mother's younger sisters, passed away this morning. She had suffered from MS for years and it finally took its toll. She was 49.

Please say a prayer for my family for healing and comfort. Following so closely on the heels of my uncle's death (my father's brother), this has been a very difficult time for us.

You have certainly had your share the last few months haven't you?

Yes, and I have a feeling it's not over yet. My mom has another sister who suffers from MS as well, and she is doing extremely poorly. She's pretty much bedridden now, so it probably won't be long for her either.

It's so hard for us to let the people we love go, even if we know that they are living in a damaged or pain filled body. Today's thought for me all day long was "My mom died just 32 days ago." I know you are going through a great loss and will think good thoughts for you and your family.

Yes, she really is better off. Her mind and body were so damaged for so long. She was really living in torture for many years. She lost so much physically and mentally, including her dignity. She was completely at the mercy of those in her life who were taking care of her, and she hated that. She was so miserable for so long. By last year she didn't even remember anymore that my sister and I were grown women with kids of our own. She thought we were still little girls (one of her sons is the same age as my middle daughter; we were pregnant together and both on bed rest, so she often called me to chat during that time).

So as hard as it is on the rest of us, I am happy for her. She is finally free of the excruciating torment she has gone through for years. She is so much better off now.
