Prayer Request for a Friend

I am requesting prayers for a friend. This person was in an abusive situation in the marriage they were in. The spouse attacked them with a knife and is now in jail. The person is now facing possible felony charges because they owned an item that was against the law in the state they lived in.

It was a firearm that was illegal, but is legal in almost all other states in the U.S. They did nothing wrong with the firearm and did not use it in self defense. But the police found it in their possession while they were doing their investigations. It was a firearm that could hold over 13 shots of ammunition. I am requesting prayers so that they will not have to serve prison time or end up with a felony on their record because of just owning a gun.

I feel so bad for this person. They just had a one year anniversary with their spouse. They were married for a little over a year in the temple in last April.

This is the update so far. The spouse has left and no charges have been filed about the ownership of the firearm. Hopefully it remains that way.
