Default velveeta cheese

Kinda a lame question but I was wondering if any one has re-sealed their velveeta cheese and how long would it last just in the food storage? It says to refrigerate after opening but if I revacuum seal it will that work? We don't use that much but every once in awhile I want some I just don't want the big log. Nor do I want it taking up space in the fridge. So I thought I could break it up and seal it making it last....Any ideas?

Before trying anything to do with food, I always contact the manufacturer, and try the question out on them first. Surprising what info you can get.

BBC - h2g2 - Velveeta Cheese

Quite funny

And I found this too which explains a bit more...

they do have small blocks you can buy. velveeta is great for making grilled cheese. they have a version with jalapenos in it that a melt and add sour cream to with taco sauce.

For many years when I was growing up, I thought velveeta and cheese were the same thing... .....and Nice Guy, you're right, it does make the best grilled cheese sandwiches!

Especially if you spread mayonnaise lightly on the outside of the bread instead of butter or margarine.

When I worked in a restaurant, this is what the cook did. I use Cheese Whiz instead of Velveeta. I just can't bring myself to spend $6.00 or more for a two pound loaf!!!
