Actually there are many, i will quote yu one from elder bruce r mckonkie; and all one needs to do is look up "zion" on the lds site. anyway hear is a small part of Mckonkies talk. And i might also add to any that might interprit "mountain" of the lords house in zion as to be an actuall mountain; needs to understand that is reffering to temples. .
{context quote}- bruce mckonkie-
Stakes of Zion are also being organized at the ends of the earth. In this connection, let us ponder these truths: A stake of Zion is a part of Zion. You cannot create a stake of Zion without creating a part of Zion. Zion is the pure in heart; we gain purity of heart by baptism and by obedience. A stake has geographical boundaries. To create a stake is like founding a City of Holiness. Every stake on earth is the gathering place for the lost sheep of Israel who live in its area.
The gathering place for Peruvians is in the stakes of Zion in Peru, or in the places which soon will become stakes. The gathering place for Chileans is in Chile; for Bolivians it is in Bolivia; for Koreans it is in Korea; and so it goes through all the length and breadth of the earth. Scattered Israel in every nation is called to gather to the fold of Christ, to the stakes of Zion, as such are established in their nations.
Isaiah prophesied that the Lord “shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root; Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.” The Lord’s promise is: “Ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.” ( Isa. 27:6, 12.)
That is to say—Israel shall be gathered one by one, family by family, unto the stakes of Zion established in all parts of the earth so that the whole earth shall be blessed with the fruits of the gospel.
This then is the counsel of the Brethren: Build up Zion, but build it up in the area where God has given you birth and nationality. Build it up where he has given you citizenship, family, and friends. Zion is here in South America and the Saints who comprise this part of Zion are and should be a leavening influence for good in all these nations.
Elder Russel m Nelson also spake a couple years ago very nicely on this same subject.

OK Lets get a few things straight.
This is who I am. Some times it is easier talking to a person rather than some stupid tag like big-mouth etc. The picture did not load.
I have seen things that you folks have never seen. WAR! ANARCHY! RIOTS! Etc. I was in the Watts Riots in LA right out of high school. I went to the Dominican Republic Riots and then to Vietnam. I was up and down the Ho Chei Min Trail, if any of you know what that was. I have two combat jumps and was medically retired from the Army. I have seen children killed, parents brutalized, starvation and etc., etc. All this before I was 21 years old. It left a few scares in the head. I don’t want my family or friends to endure such as what I have seen. Thus, I began a study of scriptures (another story some day).
Why ask me to but a date on destruction when you father in heaven, who loves you more than I do, will not tell you the date. He has given us a lot of information as what to look for before he comes again. You may not believe that, or think it is a fair tail that has been told you all your life, and so far it has not happened. But it will and sooner than you think.
Before that happens we will be tested to the very core of our faith. Those who live in the city will have a harder time of it than those who have done what the scriptures tell us and that is “get out of Babylon”. For example; what are you going to do when there is NO electricity? No phones, No communication with love ones. No food. Riots and mobs running in the streets looking for your food, where are you going to go to avoid these problems and they are defiantly coming soon. Just pay attention to the economy, the loss of our freedoms etc.
By reading the scriptures and trying to get the spirit to teach you and help you to prepare is the only way out. Becoming self-sufficient. Having a 72 our kit will do nothing for you. Stock pilling food that will be taken from you is not a great idea either. You have one option, and that is to pray about it.
We have a concentration camp just west of Utah Lake. Go look at it. I had a friend of mine fly his little plain over it and was chased out by two black hawk helicopters. They tried to get him to land etc. Scared him to death.
There is more going on here than you might want to realize. That’s why it is so important to pray and study. Good luck

Hillbilly, It sounds like you have been through a lot in your life including a great deal of trauma. Could it be that your life experience has colored the way you read the scriptures?
I get that we are in the last days. I am concerned, as are many, with the current state of things in America. But the last days aren't just filled with an impending list of horrible events. This is the FULNESS OF TIMES and filled with truth and great blessing as temples dot the earth and missionary work expanding. The Lord is still working to protect his people. He gives us spiritual protection and our garments and the temple as a refuge. We are safe in the covenants of Christ and in following the counsel of the prophet.
The brethren have taught us to prepare but they have also cautioned that we do so in prudence and balance. If it makes sense for you to build a fortress for yourself out in the middle of no where, then I think that is wonderful and am glad it works for you. But there is a vineyard to be pruned here in the last days. I can't do God's work or go where He wants me to go if I am hiding in some cave waiting for the next catastrophie.
We must be wise and prepared, but not lose our balance because of fear.
Anyway....what can a little death do? And if I die before my journey is thru, all is well all is well.

I totally agree with all of that, except the incorrect assumption that you're the only person here that has witnessed the breadth and depth of horrible things that humans do to each other.
On the other hand, I pretty much consider all of this stuff just one guy's opinion:

All of that says to me you've painted yourself a picture of what reality will look like in the future. That's fine and dandy, we all should think about the future and plan accordingly. What I disagree with, is your elevating your opinion to the status of THE TRUTH (tm), brooking no argument, and anyone who doesn't pull your party line is an ostrich with head buried in the sand. Phooey. Again, I've been meeting people like you since 1986. Always, "it" is gonna happen in "about a year". Always, the proof is "just sitting there for anyone to see", but somehow, you're the only one that sees it.
Again, phooey. Unless you are a seer, you don't get to pass off your opinions as thus-saith-the-Lord truth. Are you claiming to be a seer?

Because you claimed to know the timetable when you said "I will send you pictures and help you get out of the city when in the next year or so, you must get out or parish." Your last post contains another claim: "so far it has not happened. But it will and sooner than you think." So again, either you are on some sort of rotating, permanently-resetting timetable of "a year or so from now", or you've got a date in mind. If the former, well, to most people that looks goofy - a manmade prophecy that is impossible to ever hold to account. If the latter, then name your date.
Thank you for your service to your country. I'm sorry you had to come back to an America full of idiots who dismissed you with a wave of their hands and a sneer. If I had been part of that generation, I would have stood with you.

This has been fun. A real eye opener you might say. I am reminded ot Noah... So in the days of Noah, the last days will be like it. Noah and his family were scorned, laught at, ridiculed, by all those who quoted scriptures and thoutht they were all that. So it is in the last days. Also remember some guy in the BoM who stood on a wall and told the people there to repent or die. I am none of these great prophets.... We love our condition and refuse to allow anyone to tell us different. These are great profits in the last days! History is destined to repeat it self because we just to want to rock the boat or think that the Lord Is Comming, at least not in our life time.
There are a great many people today who have in the P. Blessing words that they will go back to Jackson and build Zion.
It is at our door! The next year or two will be very interesting.
Good Luck all....and God Bless
This is Hill Billy and signing off...

world will end when petro runs out!
Only thing I can think of, is when world demand for petroleum exceeds supply. This has already happened in the US. US peak oil was reached in the mid 1970s. That is the reason why now, we are having wars over seas..to protect our interest in the oil over seas. Eventually, world sonsumption will exceed supply.
Biggest contributing factor to world oil shortages is massive spikes in any manmade object that is transported by road, rail or air.
That means food!!!! Imagine your food prices doubling or tripling over night!! imagine fuel again, at 4-8 dollars a gallon!!
I cannot stess it enough, every man woman and child on this planet, are subsided by petroleum. Except to a cirtain extent, third world countries or the inuit!
What hillbilly is doing is just plain smart!! he is living away from the city where the first impacts of these sky high price increases will occure.
There was a report, that 2/3 of the worlds population is SUBSIDIZED by fuel. What do I mean by this??? Fuel is what keeps us alive!!
Without naural gas, fertilizer would not be made. Petro runs the tractors! Take those away,
expect major conflicts around the world!
Hillbilly, is this your only reisdence? do you have other land? if so, use it!
Anyway, Hillbilly, show us some picture of the ways you have made your place self reliant!
You have something we dont have here in vancouver.....sun in the winter!
We have lots of rain though!

Thank You BC
You don't have to be a seer, prophet, or profit, to see what is on the horizon. I have just finished a book, Isaiah Decoded by Gileadi... Great Book..
To answer your questions... I have this one 20 ac. homestead, it is over 7000 feet up in the mountains.
By living there for the past 10 years, we have learned a lot of what not to do. Food storge was one of the things we learned what not to do. Get more beans and rice then wheat. Learn to grow what you need not purchase large cans of stuff that someone else thinks you need. Don't forget to purchase SEEDS.
In the cities when anarchy comes, you can't take food storage with you. You will be lucky to get out in time. Just think and plan on getting out. If you don't need to great, but if you have to leave your homes and go to the wilderness. You will need planning. We are all in this together. It is now if, but when.
I would love to give you pictures, but they are not on url... but if you travel to my blog at: hillbillyandkids.blogspot.com I have a few there...
These next few years will seperate the goats from the sheep.
