Default Pasta Makers

Do you use a pasta maker? What brand is it? Would you buy the same brand again? Do you feel it is worth the money you paid for it?

I want to get a pasta maker. My electric mixer does not have a pasta attachment, but I think that a manual one would be better.

I do make noodles by rolling them out thin, then rolling the dough up and slicing into thin strips- but I would really like to make other forms(?) too.

I would prefer to not store dry pasta for the long term. The brittle packaging really isn't that protective, even though I vacuum seal the bags anyway. I want to use the fresh flour.

I would love one. Had one but it was not strong enough. Broke a teflon fitting inside. I would suggest getting the most expensive, brand name you can afford if you get one.

I have one of these:

It is the best thing anyone has ever given me and it came from my MIL of all places.

I make the pasta dough by hand and then run it through the Pasta Queen. My kids and now my grandson love to turn the crank.

I have also made pasta and cut it by hand. Its not as pretty but it tastes just as yummy.

The brand is Deluxe Atlas Pasta Queen. It cost roughly $50 15 or so years ago. Yes I'd buy another one and yes, I'd recommend it to anyone, Yes it was worth the money and if I had to replace it I'd be willing to pay more now. However, there is a used one at Amazon for $39 and several on Ebay from $69 to $30.

If something happened to my pasta maker I would probably cry.

I like that, Apple. I wonder if there are any good electrical ones. With all my aches and pains....

Thanks Apple, when my grain grinding attachment to my Bosch broke that is exactly what I did- I sat down and cried.

My Mom made all of her noodles by hand. I loved to slice them for her. But it is not something I enjoy doing now- I like them smaller/thinner and uniform.
