Default Emergency Heater

I've been looking at emergency heaters for a while and there are some new ones that have come out on the market that some might be interested in.

In my ward, we all live in apartments, and most dont have generators. We also have a lot of people that are elderly that live in some retirement apartments next to ours. Its always concerned me because they live on three levels & have one single elevator. When the power goes out, it seems to send everyone in a panic over there!

Along with my lessons on 72 hour kits, Ive been wondering how we might fare in a snow storm with severe cold if the power went out. After investigating many portable heaters, there is a new class of portable heaters that run on Propane that have been certified for indoor use here in the USA. The use oxygen, which means you have to have some ventilation for that purpose. The one I decided to purchase and review for myself has a low oxygen shut off system. I ran it all day yesterday as directed and I had no problems whatsoever.

The companies that make these new heaters include Coleman & Mr. Heater. Im sure there are others. If anybody has anymore information that they know about including other brands to that I can help investigate those that would be helpful.
