The Table
My hubby wrote this a few yrs ago:
As you come to Christ's table
Does your heart with fear tremble?
Because of sin not yet confessed
With a mind the world obessed.
When you come to Christ's own feast
Do you know you are released?
Forgiven for the wrong you've done
Is this the way you want to come?
As you take the bread, His body
Are you who you ought to be?
Or does the bread make you feel ill?
Because you live outside His will
When you take His brokenness
Do you know the great sweetness
Of forgiveness that comes from Him
And the new life that is within?
Now as you drink of the vine
Does it taste like sour wine?
Because your way is far from Him
without God's light shinning within.
When you drink of His blood spilt
Does the world in your life wilt?
Do you turn and see His face?
Your sin washed away without a trace.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it s the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
