Ummm, the gold boots are dorky.
As are the tucked-in pants. (I LOVE being the fashion police.)
Yeah, but they are all Mormons -- one now is in charge of the Church education system in Sweden.

Here's a couple of famous Swedes you might have seen before:

Thomas Monson is a quarter Swede and his wife Francis is pure Swede.

I wonder if President Monson would agree with the magazine's assertation!

I used to have a swede jacket back in the day. Then some guy told me it was really sweet suede, and it blew my mind.

What do you think he would say. Of course he'll agree, in the case of his wife.

The world's definition of beauty and the Church's definition of beauty are different. In fact, your definition of beauty and my definition of beauty are different. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Welll, I read the comments below the music video ...so I knew they were LDS ; ) .

Agree with young and cute-sy : ).

Even more impressed by running the church education system...depth is a definite asset.

Nah, I'll take a dark skinned mixed (white/native) South American girl any day.

I once saw a 20/20 (or some show like that) special where they did scientific research to determine where the most beautiful are from, their results... Iceland.

You can find beautiful women all over the world. I don't think you can say one country has more than the other. All a matter of opinion of course. As Canuck Mormon said....beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think you can, as evidenced by why high paid models seem to come from certain countries more than others. Also, irregardless of racial differences studies show that certail characteristics are just more attractive with people worldwide than others. Facial semetry, child-like mouth/chin, a 70% waist to hip ratio, large eyes that are not close to each other, etc.

Actually, evolutionary psychology would say that someone with facial and body characteristics of a young Audrey Hepburn would be ideal worldwide. This is due to biology -- the way we are programmed. So countries possessing populations where women are more likely to have these characteristics will be regarded as having more attractive women.

I don't think the modeling industry determines who is most attractive. If the entire public voted on who should model, I don't think the same people would be chosen.

High fashion models are not chosen for being pretty. Commercial supermodels yes, but the typical haute couture models are given jobs because they are not conventionally pretty, but more edgy looking and strange.

You are right about the scientific ideals, but the vast majority of models actually do not follow them. Supermodels like Klum and Lima are actually in the minority, most models are given jobs by designers for being, well, kind of weird looking. But then again, commercial models like the ones you are talking about are geared towards men, while haute couture models are geared towards women.

Then there are those so-called hot women who don't fit the scientific standard of beauty and yet still hang in the lockers of boys at school. Paris Hilton's nose is considered too large by scientific ideals, Kate Moss has a snaggle tooth and crack acne. Yet they are highly regarded as attractive.

Those ideals make a good guideline, but they do not always apply.

As a man, I agree. Most of the fashion models do nothing for me. Some of them, in my opinion, are unattractive. I'm sorry, but 5'11", 90lbs., flat as a board, emaciated women just aren't appealing to me. They're freaks of nature, and not the ideal as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know what the attraction is to Paris Hilton other than her inheritance. Maybe it's just that every time I see her I have this urge to scream 'whore!', but I just don't care to look at her.
