so i was just wondering something- we all know that Christ wasn't born Dec. 25th and that it was actually in April, but are we the only church that believes/knows that? is this kinda common knowledge for other churches? and if so, then why do we still celebrate His birth in December????

Because we celebrate his resurection in April. It would be kind of weird to be somber yet merry at the same time. Think of how we would seem like if we were acting all Christmasy on Easter.

Actually the reason we celebrate the birth of Christ on the 25th of december is because it is a Roman Catholic doing... they wanted it on the 25th.... im sure there is a back reason to that, but i cant think of it right this minute....

I will look it up and then tell you the REAL REASON...

actully, it aint catholic. it was an old pagen (sp?) holiday. easter is also has roots as a pagen(sp?) holiday. no, we are not the onlt church that belives he was born in april. most cristion churchs belive it. we are the only one that knows the actual day though. actully, very few of the traditions are in any wau connected to christs' birth.
