Listening to the song I see it rather than them bragging or anything of the sort I see it rather as they are singing about how we should be,how we are striving to be the best we can be.

OK just me but isn't it refreshing to hear Teens be positive? whilst I do fine the music bit Disney I do with most church songs, I love the lyrics, give me a teen that stand for something they believe in that have strength etc

I certainly would rather that for my kids than having no direction about who they are

Often youth don't realize how much they are watched. I know I didn't when I was that age. I know there have been times in our current ward when I would comment to a parent about how wonderful a kid acted in a situation I observed. The parent would come back later and say thanks again, adding my son/daughter didn't realize anyone was watching.

I guess we all see things from our own perspective. I seem to look at life through Rose Colored glasses!

P.S. We used to sing True to the Faith, Hymn #254. It says in the hymnal to sing Vigorously. I think that the youth will make this new song their own and when we here it sung in Sacrament Meeting by the youth we'll be touch by the spirit.

I suppose True to the Faith could be considered arrogant too. Below are the words:
True to the Faith
Vigorously No. 254

1. Shall the youth of Zion falter
In defending truth and right?
While the enemy assaileth,
Shall we shrink or shun the fight? No!

[Chorus]
True to the faith that our parents have cherished,
True to the truth for which martyrs have perished,
To God’s command,
Soul, heart, and hand,
Faithful and true we will ever stand.

2. While we know the pow’rs of darkness
Seek to thwart the work of God,
Shall the children of the promise
Cease to grasp the iron rod? No!

3. We will work out our salvation;
We will cleave unto the truth;
We will watch and pray and labor
With the fervent zeal of youth. Yes!

4. We will strive to be found worthy
Of the kingdom of our Lord,
With the faithful ones redeemed
Who have loved and kept his word. Yes!

Text and music: Evan Stephens, 1854–1930

I was a part of the Brand New Year thing and helped bring in the new theme and i'm not going to lie the music could have been better but the memories i made doing this spiritual experience was amazing my testimony grew so much with the fun times and with the people i met and music i love music it is pretty much my life so its not really the tune but the meaning that they are trying to get across
