Ezra Taft Benson siad it like it is -- no PR concerns, no political correctness, just the way it was (and still is -- except the Russians may wind up the ones living in freedom and Americans fall for the seduction of left-wing policies).

It is a tearful thought, the indifference of so much of America including the LDS with respect to liberty in this country. The masses are falling for all the supposed 'freebies' offered by Communism. The descendents of the prophets who sought the protection of the constitution from an intrusive action against their very marriages seek to add to the powers of government over marriage while the only Mormon candidate in a Presidential race says openly that he would commit our military to an act of war without a constitutional congressional approval and seek out lawyers to help him out of the legal recourse if and when it results.

My thoughts on the matter are found on my blog here. I might need to think about point #6 in light of recent events, but my overall opinion remains the same.

If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack, to sit in the synagogue and pray. And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall. And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day. That would be the sweetest thing of all. Ohhh.... If I were a rich man...
