Working on Spanish (Dad is from Spain)

A little sign language, basically pigeon

Still working on English as well.

First of all I love the scriptures. I've served as gospel doctrine teacher and seminary teacher (as well as many other callings). I love studying the scriptures....they are certainly more than just books.

I love realistic fiction, historical fiction and fact, biographies, recipe books, and anything by OSC.

Favorite authors: Orson Scott Card (of course), Jane Austin, Robert Ludlum for quick fun, and a variety of others.

I have read all of Stephenie Meyers' books since I am a high school librarian and must know what all these people are making such a fuss over.

Saw the Beatles perform live in Las Vegas when I was 8! Memorable, but couldn't actually hear them sing much - teenage girls were screaming, crying, and being dragged off of the stage by police officers.

Especially enjoyed Carole King and James Taylor, the Spinners, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, Queen, Barry White and a variety of others. I've always loved Dean Martin (my dad used to sing like him).

Enjoy some of my kids' music: Dave Matthews, Coldplay, Format, etc.

Gotta love Kenneth Cope with his voice like honey.

Fiddler on the Roof, Amadeus, Juno, Sons of Provo (totally enjoyably stupid).

Hmmmmmm, eating, reading, hanging with family and friends, playing with my pets. I'm just starting to travel a little and I love the history, culture, natural environment, food, and ambiance of visiting a new place.

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I joined the church (solita) at age 9; graduated from BYU in elementary ed and special ed.; married and raised 4 fabulous and often trying children (all have been through the temple: 3 married, 2 with children -5 total so far- one serving a Spanish speaking mission in Georgia Atlanta North (dirty ATL); received my Masters of Ed degree in math/science curriculum and development, endorsement in library sciences, and National Board Teaching Certification.

I work as a high school librarian in an at-risk school as well as serving as National Honor Society Adviser.

I was recently released as RS Pres. I am now the Stake Birth Mother Volunteer. I've also served as president of the other 2 aux.s, gospel doctrine, Sunday school, seminary, and primary teacher as well as counselor in RS and Primary.

I love the gospel, family, reading, eating, laughing, and learning.

TurkeyRun,

I haven't been on for ages and I was wondering how you're doing? Did you see conference? Are things going well for you and your family? I hope so!

I loved General Conference! I think the Saturday morning session was just for me. Great stuff, all of it.

Again, I hope you are doing well. Truly.

Hi gigi

I'm doing fine.  I did see the conference, yes.  Our satellite carrier has BYU-TV so I got to watch it on the 42" HD instead of squinting on a computer  I've been going through some cancer surgery so my Mrs. couldn't complain too much about what I wanted to watch on TV.

I'm serving as the advisor to the Deacon's quorum in the ward (we have 3 deacons) and learning what I can while finishing my school and keeping up with work.

So yea, things are good!

My son went to boot camp prior to his mission and was very disappointed his reserve unit was deployed while he was in Brazil. He returned and we had moved to Utah so he is now with F Company here in Salt Lake. He has alway had the opportunity to attend church services and hangs around with good friends. Of course we are concerned about him, but he loves it. As a parent, I am terrified - as a soldier, I am jealous.

Yea, Marines! My not really adopted son is getting out of bootcamp next week and coming to stay with us for a few days. Any advice? He signed up for infantry and I'm worried.....

Regarding your "MUSIC" profile:  That's amazing!  So...Were you a concert that was video taped-if I was to watch a Beatle's performance, would I see you in the crowd?

Well I figure as a two year old I need to be as articulate as possible and dress to impress. It is funny you mention the age becuase i never noticed it until Pam brought it up a few weeks ago. I dont even remember filling out anything about my birthday.

I too enjoy a good Robert Ludlum book. Makes for easy entertainment.

Gigi, I cannot guarantee the answer.  It depends on the chaplain.  My guess is that the baptism will be full-immersion.  There are such things as portable baptismal tanks, even if he is in the field.  I minister in a jail, and have a tank that I can move to any of the housing units, for baptism in the rec yard.  So, blessings to your boy.  God will watch over him better than anyone else can.  :-)  PC

You are missed when you're not around here! I'm glad things are
looking good for you. I have no idea what's going on in your life, but my prayers
are with you! BTW I think of you as that tree, strong and always growing.

Take care!
